The first game on the last day of the New York Football Challenge sees English side Tottenham Hotspur take on Sporting Lisbon. Both teams finished fourth in their domestic leagues last season. Tottenham started off their pre season tour with a 0-0 draw against San Jose Earthquakes. A lot of players returning from the World Cup have not been pushed into action. Players like Ledley King, Winston Palacios, Jermaine Defoe and Michael Dawson did not feature in the game against the Quakes. Fans could also get a look at the Lilywhites’ new signing – Brazilian defensive midfielder Sandro.

Sporting Lisbon started off their pre-season with a 2-0 win over French giants Lyon. Paulo Sergio’s side has a very talented nucleus of players. Their midfield boasts of good players like Maniche, Miguel Veloso, Marat Izmailov and Matias Fernandez, all of whom are match winners on their day.
