Turkey will welcome South Korea to the Atatürk Olimpiyat Stadi on Wednesday February 9 2011 for an International Friendly fixture. The two teams are in different form as Korea came one step away from the Asian Cup final recently and Turkey have not won any of their last three games.
The Turkish national team Guus Hiddink is vastly experienced and should be able to prepare his players for the likes of Dong-Won Ji and Ji-Sung Park both of whom were in great shape in their recent games for the Korean Republic. With only pride at stake it’s not clear whether some of the Korean team’s better players will be released by their clubs for more international duty especially Chung-Yong Lee who has been missed at Bolton Wanderers.
Turkey should capitalise on any weakened line up and after the three straight losses Huddink will look to Trabzonspor striker Umut Bulut to lead the line and hopefully sneak an early goal. Hamit Altintop who plays his football in the Bundesliga for Bayern Munich is expected to be a big influence in the midfield despite only playing 578 minutes for Bayern this season.
