Wales and Scotland go head to head in Cardiff this coming Saturday as both teams make use of the international weekend break due to the World Cup qualifying play-offs. Both Wales manager John Toshack, and his Scottish counterpart George Burley will use Saturday’s encounter in their efforts to prepare for the upcoming Euro 2012 qualifiers that will be starting after the summer’s World Cup extravaganza in South Africa. As such, the game will be played at the City of Cardiff Stadium which, due to the nature of the game, may prove to be a better environment when it comes to game atmosphere.

Both teams will field youngsters and fringe players in their squads, and this mix of experience and inexperience will stand the teams in good stead when it comes to qualifying matches for the next tournament.

As a matter of interest, Wales finished their World Cup qualifying group in fourth place with twelve points, while Scotland finished third in their group with ten points.
