Fiorentina, who took the pitch on Saturday without Alberto Gilardino and Juan Vargas, shocked Inter by taking the lead in the 11th minute. Riccardo Montolivo played in Gianluca Comotto, who crossed from the right for Keirrison to slot home from close range. Inter equalised in the 74th minute when Diego Milito slid in Maicon’s cross for his 23rd goal of the season.

The Nerazzurri went ahead six minutes later when Sneijder found Mario Balotelli with space on the right wing. The youngster crossed into the box and Cameroon skipper Samuel Eto’o did the rest. However Fiorentina were back in it less than two minutes later when some poor aerial judgment from Inter keeper Julio Cesar allowed Danish defender Per Koldrup to equalise.
