This weekend will see Inter Milan play S.S. Lazio, the current Italian Cup champions, in Beijing. This game will take place at the Beijing National Stadium, nicknamed the Bird's Nest, and striker Samuel Eto will likely be on the field for Inter Milan, having arrived as a result of the agreement that saw Slatan Ibrahimovic move on to play for Barcelona. Eto played last week in a friendly against Manaco, and they were able to beat them 1 to 0. Another player that may be on the field is new signee Diego Milto. Milan also has Thiago Motta and Lucio, who left his contract with Bayern Munich a year ahead of schedule. Also Milan will have Dejan Stankovic, Estaban Cambiasso and Sulley Muntari on the field, and this is the fifth year in a row for Inter Milan to appear at the Italian Super Cup, and they have taken home the trophy four times in the past five years including last year. Milan won their first Italian Cup in the 1938 to 1939 season.

As for Lazio, this is their first Italian Super Cup since 2004, when a third goal from Andriv Shevchenko gave AC Milan the game against Biancocelestic which ended three to zip. They wre able to qualify for the Super Cup with penalties at the Italian Cup. As for players, Davide Ballardini made the decision not to bring along Goran Padev, Cristian Ledesma and Lorenzo Di Silvestri, but did bring in Julio Cruz, who was a transfer from Inter Milan last summer. Also, Mauro Zarate will be on the field for Lazio as well.
