Juventus host Napoli this Wednesday at the Stadio Olimpico in Turin in the round of 16 of Coppa Italia 2009-2010. After their shock elimination from the Champions League, the Old Lady of Turin have lost three of their last four games in the League. They were hammered 3-0 by Milan on Sunday and there is tremendous pressure on coach Ciro Ferrara to turn things around. Reports in Italy also suggest that Ferrara may be replaced by Russian coach Guus Hiddink after this tie against Napoli, irrespective of the result.

Juventus will be without Danish midfielder Christian Poulsen who picked up an injury in their last game against Milan. The home side’s injury list also includes David Trezeguet, Vincenzo Iaquinta, Mauro Camoranesi, Sebastian Giovinco and Gianluigi Buffon.

Napoli have secured 14 points out of a maximum 15 from their last five games in the League. And coach Walter Mazzarri has hinted at concentrating on the League rather than the Cup. Mazzarri is reportedly more interested in saving his superstars for the weekend game against Palermo and may send out a weakened XI.

As a result Fabio Quagliarella and Marek Hamsik are likely to stay at home and not travel to Turin. Andrea Dossena, Edwin Hoffer and German Denis will all get a look in from the start. Napoli’s Argentine star Ezequiel Lavezzi is injured and not available for selection.
