Despite taking a tenth minute lead through the league’s top scorer Samuel Eto’o last weekend, Barcelona still contrived to lose only their fourth game of the campaign when Mallorca came back in great fashion, scoring two goals, in the 73^rd and 78^th minutes. Obviously, the Catalans knew before hand that they had already been crowned champions as Real had lost the day before, and this could have had an effect on the match, especially with a Champions League final rapidly approaching.

Barca find themselves in a position where they can now rest players for the big game ahead, but at the same time they have to be careful not to ruin the day for the 90,000 fans that will cram in to the Nou Camp this weekend for the champions celebrations. It’s a fine line to tread, but as long as the team do not lose, then the fans will be happy enough, especially if it contributes to them winning the Champions League.
