Atletico Madrid made a significant climb up the La Liga table this past weekend after their stunning, late victory over high flying Sevilla at the Estadio Vicente Calderon. When Atletico Madrid went behind in the score to Sevilla last time out just before half time, their fans must have got that sinking feeling again. But at the start of the second half a Dragutinovic own goal levelled the match, giving Atletico and their fans a renewed sense of optimism for the rest of the game.

The result of the game meant that Atletico climbed up to eleventh in the La Liga table and now has seventeen points to their name. Despite the fact that there are seven teams separated by just two points (with Atletico heading this group), things are starting to look rosier for the team, especially considering the dire start they made to the season and the fact that just before Christmas they were just two positions off the bottom of the table.

Valladolid go into the game on the back of a 1-0 away defeat at Getafe and now find themselves in thirteenth position with sixteen points. At home they have two wins, four draws and two defeats.
