Lyon won their second successive Ligue 1 game this past weekend when they defeated Lorient 3-1 away from home. Considering they only won once in their previous eight games before this run, it can be classed as a marked improvement for the Lyon team. When they travelled to Lorient last weekend, Lyon knew they had to start stringing some positive results together, if not for trying to catch Bordeaux in first position which now seems a rather forlorn prospect, then to secure Champions League football for next season. The win now gives Lyon 36 points from 21 games played and they are now back up to fifth in the table. They are, though, still a full eleven points behind leaders and current champions Bordeaux.

For their part, PSG come into the game on the back of a 1-0 home defeat to Monaco. They have now won only once in their last five league encounters and they have dropped to eleventh in the league standings with 29 points to their name.
