Arsenal’s form has been in superb in recent months, after struggling to get into the top four in the first few months of the season. The Gunners season had been blighted by injuries with star players like Spanish playmaker Cesc Fabregas and striker Emanuel Adebayor picking up injuries which have kept them out for large chunks of the season.
The recent return of the star pair has saw the Gunners form pick up dramatically and they now look likely to clinch the vital fourth Champions League place. Arsene Wenger still has injury problems though, with defender William Gallas out for the rest of the season. Fellow defenders Johan Djourou and Gael Clichy are also doubts for the Gunners.
Middlesbrough drew 0-0 with Fulham at the Riverside Stadium in their last Premier League outing, the point didnt help much in their fight against relegation. Boro are third from bottom in the Premier League, three points away from safety and Gareth Southgate knows that they need to start winning quickly if they are to avoid the drop into the Championship, but they face a stiff test against the Gunners at the Emirates.
The Middlesbrough manager will be able to select midfielder Gary O’Neill for this clash after he served a two game suspension and Didier Digard could also return after a lengthy injury layoff. Stewart Downing could captain Boro again, if club captain Emanuel Pogatetz isn’t fit to appear.
