Arsenal face a tough league fixture as Tony Pulis managed Stoke City come visiting to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon. See Arsenal vs Stoke live on your computer by signing up with Ole Ole Football today.
Stoke are currently ahead of Arsenal in the league standings, which is not exactly surprising given the latter’s poor start to the season. In fact, had it not been for their surprise loss to Swansea before the international break, Tony Pulis’ men would be in the European spots currently.
Stoke’s last fixture was a home outing against Fulham. The Potters won the clash 2-0, with both goals coming right at the death. Matty Etherington had a hand in both goals as the Potters capped a dominating second half performance with late strikes.
Robin van Persie was Arsenal’s savior against Sunderland last weekend. The Dutch skipper converted a draw into three points with his excellent late free kick. Van Persie incidentally had also scored Arsenal’s opening goal of the game.
Arsenal will look to avenge last May’s loss to Stoke at the Britannia when they host the Potters on Sunday.

Arsene Wenger's Arsenal side will play host to Tony Pulis' Stoke City in the Premier League on February 23 2011. The Battle at the top of the table has never been so tight and with twelve games left Arsenal must believe that they can close the four point gap on United. Stoke too as they have a game in hand on the four clubs in front of them and a win could mean they have a Europa spot at the end of the season. Arsene Wenger's starting line-up will include their captain Cesc Fabregas who was brought down to earth when he played against Barcelona in the Champions League. He was outplayed for much of the game and afterwards made it clear to anyone that was listening where his loyalties lie by saying that the Barcelona team is the best team of all time even though Arsenal had just beaten them. Wenger had Andre Arshavin and Robin Van Persie to thank for the monumental win of the Spanish leaders so will not have risked them against Leyton Orient in the FA Cup at the weekend. They will though feature against Stoke and be eager to impress the fans again.
Tony Pulis' men have been playing well on occasion and will have been glad to have drawn Brighton and Hove Albion in the FA Cup which would have been played the weekend before this fixture. Pulis will most likely use a utility team and bring on some key players late in that game if needed in order to preserve his best for Arsenal on Wednesday. Arsene Wenger's Arsenal side will host Tony Pulis' Stoke City in the Premier League on December 18 2010. Both teams have been playing well and the fact that Arsenal lost to the league leaders Man United will not have dented their confidence a great deal as they were the better side for the first half of the game. Stoke had the misfortune of meeting Blackpool last week and their scalp was added to the seasiders collection for their first premiership campaign. Arsene Wenger's starting line-up will feature defenders Squillaci who is looking consistent but Song who is filling in at the back showed yet again where Arsenal’s weaknesses in depth lie. Nasri is a sure starter and at the moment seems to be the only gunner with any flair or passion for the results the fans expect. The squad has been hit badly this year by inconsistency due to injury and it always looks as though there are crucial players just not quite up with the pace of the game. Even Cesc Fabregas has struggled to do what was previously came natural to the Spaniard until his series of layoffs.
Tony Pulis's starting eleven will probably include Jermaine Pennant who has been priced out of Stoke’s budget even though they have been paying his wages this season. At 6 million pounds the ex-Liverpool player who is contracted to Real Zaragoza will have to return to the Spanish club if an agreement can’t be reached. Other players that will make the pitch on Saturday are Delap, Etherington and Whitehead in the middle of the park. See the outcome of this game with live streaming from oleolefootball.watchlive.net.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is still not conceding the title, despite his team being thumped 3-0 at home by Chelsea last Sunday. A result which put the Gunners eleven points behind their London rivals, albeit with a game in hand. The team are back at the Emirates again on Saturday, this time for a Premier League fixture against Tony Pullis’ Stoke City team. Arsenal boss Wenger stated that his team had “grown up” before the encounter against Chelsea last time out; a statement he wished he’d never made now. His team were ripped apart by Carlo Ancellotti’s Chelsea team and it is hard to now see them getting back into the title race. Arsenal have now lost four games this season and another defeat or two will surely, even in the French managers eyes, spell the end of their title challenge for another season.
In the game against Chelsea on Sunday, Arsenal found themselves trailing 2-0 at half time thanks to two late Chelsea goals (41st and 45th minutes). Although the team responded in terms of upping their performance early in the second half, they couldn’t find a way through the Chelsea defence, and ultimately paid the price for their attacking when the Blue’s hit them on the counter on 86 minutes to secure a 3-0 victory.
For their part, Stoke go to the Emirates on the back of a 0-0 away draw at Blackburn Rovers. They sit in a respectable ninth position in the Premier league table with twenty points to their name. Away from home they have one victory, four draws and two defeats.

Last time Arsenal and Stoke City battled it was at the beginning of the season with Stoke beating Arsenal 2-1. Rory Delap completed two long throw ins, allowing both Ricardo Fuller and Sayi Olofinjana to score. Fuller's shot was after a throw from Delap to the far post while Olofinjana dived for a goal that was cleared from the line by Gael Clichy, which was alos thrown in from Delap. Robin Van Persie was sent off for shoving Thomas Sorenson, just prior to Gael Clichy grabbed a goal with a shot that he deflected.
