The Gunners were thoroughly outclassed by their bitter rivals a fortnight ago as the Red Devils smashed in eight at Old Trafford. The inexperience of the Arsenal backline was cruelly exposed against Man Utd and led to manager Arsene Wenger moving quickly in the closing days of the summer transfer window to strengthen his squad.

Swansea are yet to score a goal in the top flight this season. A 4-0 thrashing from Man City was followed by stalemates against Wigan Athletic and Sunderland. Brendan Rodgers’ side are also out of the League Cup, having suffered a shock 3-1 loss to Shrewsbury Town.
