Aston Villa will be talking on Portsmouth in the Villa Park on the 19th of September, which seems to be a rather one sided match. Aston Villa started the season very well by winning 3 out of the 4 matches played, bringing them up to the upper side of the charts. Portsmouth on the other hand is yet to register a win in this season and is at the absolute bottom.

O’Neill’s squad came out with 3 debutant defenders this season which made many doubt the manager’s skills. All 3 of them, however, proved themselves with the team conceding just 3 goals in the season yet. Gabriel Agbonlahor on the other hand is performing well with the attack and led his team to victory by his late goal against Birmingham City. The American keeper, Brad Friedel, also did a great job keeping a clean sheet against some of the powerful attacks from Birmingham City.

Portsmouth is way behind in the charts, as well as in performance. The season has been a confidence killer for them up until now.  The team however, showed some potential in the previous match against Bolton Wanderers but the Wanderers stopped them from earning their first points of the season. Younes Kaboul has showed some skill with the attack, but has not been able to get any support from the defense.

Portsmouth will be desperate to win this one to regain its respect. However they need to really tighten up their defense in order to do so as the team has already been punished with 10 goals in the season. Aston on the other hand has the advantage of playing at home and are also in better form and will be looking to register an easy win to move up further in charts.  Which team can come away with the key victory?
