Aston Villa is in disarray after Martin O’Neill resigned Monday as they expected to lose Ashley Young and James Milner. O’Neill’s target Aiden McGeady looks ready to deal with Spartak Moscow as Celtic hurry to do business. Carew and Agbonlahor need to impress now that it looks like they’ll be relied upon as first choice up front. Emile Heskey despite being in the English World Cup squad, is unlikely to be a big part of this seasons plan. Richard Dunne now looks doubtful after being taken off against Valencia and that adds to the defensive problems of Cuellar and Collins who are also out.

West Ham have their own problems with their pre-season warm ups taking a turn for the worse when they visited Burton Albion where they lost 4-2. They followed that with a trip to the Dons and came away with a 2-0 loss. New signing Frederic Piquionne will look to emulate Alessandro Diamanti’s goal effort in the 1-1 draw with Southend. Avraam Grant is likely to stick with Pablo Barrera as the Mexican is warming to his role. Live football streams are always available at oleolefootball.watchlive.net.

Premier League Live

After such an impressive start to this season’s Premier League campaign which saw Aston Villa rightly pursuing a top four place and a coveted Champions League spot for next season and a run that saw them suffer just three league defeats in their first eighteen games, they have since suffered two league defeats in succession. What makes it worse for Villa fans to comprehend is the fact that both defeats were to rivals for a Champions League spot, Arsenal and Liverpool.

When they lost three goals to nil away to Arsenal Martin O’Neill put it down to a one-off, a bad performance that was rightly compounded with a 3-0 defeat. Their next game was a home one against a very disappointing so far this season Liverpool side. Much to manager O’Neill’s consternation, his team also lost this game, this time 1-0 to an injury time Fernando Torres goal that was greeted with great delight from the Liverpool contingent of players and fans. Because of these results, Villa have fallen to sixth in the league and have 35 points, just two ahead of Liverpool now.

For their part, West Ham are struggling this season. They are seventeenth in the league and have eighteen points. In their last league game the lost 2-0 away to Spurs.

In their last outing Aston Villa came back from two goals down to claim a 3-3 draw with rivals Everton at Villa Park. The Villan’s were two down within 25 minutes, through goals from Tim Cahill and Marouane Fellaini. Villa fought back with a John Carew goal, but Steven Pienaar made it 3-1 to the visitors. The home side produced a fantastic comeback through goals from James Milner and a Gareth Barry penalty. The result didn’t help Villa, as they have now gone seven Premier League games without a victory.

Martin O’Neill’s side could have a problem up front, after striker Gabriel Agbonlahor limped off against Everton and Defender Martin Laursen is also a doubt for Villa after missing the Everton game. Carlos Cuellar also missed that match through a back problem, but the Spanish centre half should recover in time for this clash against the Hammers.

West Ham suffered a 1-0 defeat at Tottenham in their last Premier League game, the only goal coming from Roman Pavlyuchenko. Before that game the Hammers were unbeaten in five league games and will hope to get back to winning ways in this clash.

West Ham are still without strikers Dean Ashton and Carlton Cole, that means Spaniard Diego Tristan could start his fourth consecutive game up front. Scott Parker and Radoslav Kovac could also return to the squad after missing the trip to White Hart Lane.
