Bolton Wanderers have lost three in their last five games but last week they finished off Arsenal’s title hopes with a 2-1 win at the Reebok scoring in injury time through Israeli midfielder Tamir Cohen. Bolton are playing for pride more than anything at the moment as they are safely in the top half of the table with just three games remaining after the Blackburn fixture it looks like the most they could rise to is seventh to knock Everton in to eighth. Before the Blackburn game though they have to face Fulham on the Wednesday which could leave the Bolton players lacking rest this week having played Sunday, Wednesday and Saturday.
Blackburn manager Steve Kean has to face fellow strugglers West Ham and Wolves before the end of the season which will mean tough games ahead and they also have to meet Man United who will show no mercy either. They had a midweek game against Wigan, but that ended in a goaless draw.
Blackburn are currently mid-table with far less relegation concerns than Bolton. On the other hand they don’t seem capable of making it up to nearer the top of the league either; they keep on dropping points. Blackburn played Hull midweek and they did manage to leave with the points after a 1-0 win. The good news in the Rover’s camp is that chairman John Williams has promised that there will be a bit more spending money for players next season.
