This coming Wednesday evening will see the clash between Blackburn Rovers and Liverpool at Ewood Park. This meeting in the Premier League is vitally important for both clubs and you can see how things turn out by joining us here at oleolefootball.watchlive.net and enjoying the live streaming soccer from England at its very best.
Before the meeting on Wednesday, both sides have a Premier league fixture to fulfil at the weekend – Blackburn face a trip to Wearside to play Sunderland, while Liverpool entertain Bolton at Anfield.
Before the weekend’s fixtures, the results of which are currently unknown at the time of writing this preview, the two teams enjoyed mixed results. Whereas Blackburn travelled to West Brom and came away with a handsome 3-1 win, Liverpool entertained rock-bottom Wolves and somehow contrived to lose the match 1-0. This result did nothing to endear manager Roy Hodgson to the Anfield faithful and he is very quickly losing the backing of the fans (and, if news stories are to be believed, the board).
Blackburn, prior to the weekend’s games, find themselves in ninth position in the league table with 25 points to their name. Their home form is average, with four wins, three draws and three defeats from their ten games so far this season at Ewood Park. Liverpool’s away form, on the other hand, has been shocking for a club of their so-called stature. Out of the nine games they have played away from L4, they have only won once! They have drawn two and lost the remaining six games.
Join us here at oleolefootball.watchlive.net this coming Wednesday evening and see whether Liverpool can improve on their dreadful away record so far this season, or whether Blackburn Rovers can add yet another spanner ion Roy Hodgson’s works.
Liverpool will look to build on their great Merseyside derby win from last weekend when they travel to nearby Blackburn Rovers on Saturday. The win against Everton last time out will give the Reds hope that they can now build a head of steam and fight their way back into contention for a top four finish. Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez always said that once the teams large injury list started to clear up that the team would start playing to their potential, and last weekend’s gritty win over Everton in the Merseyside derby underlined this fact. With only Fernando Torres still out injured amongst the first team squad, Liverpool have now won two games in a row (including the ill-fated Champions league game against Debrecen), and are now unbeaten in the last three English Premier League games.
Despite playing second fiddle to Everton for much of the derby game, The Reds still showed enough resilience under pressure to pull a result out of the bag. Their first goal was thanks to a rather fortuitous deflection after Mascherano’s seemingly wide-bound shot took a deflection of hapless Everton defender Yobo and ended up in the back of the net. Despite further Everton pressure, Liverpool hit the Blue’s on the counter in the second half and wrapped up the points thanks to a goal from workhorse Dirk Kuyt.
Blackburn, for their part, could only draw at home last time out to Stoke City and as such fell to thirteenth position in the league table. They have seventeen points to their name and at home their record reads four wins, two draws and one defeat.

Rovers were away to Portsmouth in week 15. Through their first 14 matches this season they have posted an abysmal 13 points which are the product of 3 wins, 4 draws and 7 losses with 14 goals scored and 25 conceded. This is a very important match for them as they cannot afford to continue to drop points at home. The side managed by Paul Ince will be missing Reid, Dunn and Vince Grella to injury.
The Reds had a short week to prepare for this game as they were at home to West Ham United at Anfield Road last week. Through their first 14 games this season the side managed by Rafa Benitez have posted 33 points which are the product of 10 wins, 3 draws and 1 loss with 21 goals scored and 8 conceded. Liverpool will be without Degen, Skrtel, Fernando Torres and Fabio Aurelio this week.
