Rovers produced the upset of the season so far when they claimed a 3-2 win over United on Saturday. Thrashed 7-1 the last time they set foot in Old Trafford, few would have expected Rovers to take a point, leave alone three, this time around.
However some foolish tugging on the part of Dimitar Berbatov allowed Yakubu to put Rovers ahead from the spot in the first half. The Yak then doubled Rovers’ interval after the break, but United showed that Sir Alex’s half time talk had an impact as they netted twice in quick succession to get the scoreline to 2-2.
However United keeper David de Gea chose the wrong time to showcase his defensive frailties as his half-hearted attempt to punch away Morten Gamst Pedersen’s corner allowed Grant Hanley to take advantage and head in Blackburn’s third of the game.

With Blackburn looking for a new manager lots of names have been touted as the Sam Allardyce’s successor but paper talk is dying down of Argentinean Legend Diego Maradona. The new emerging favourite is Cardiff City manager Dave Jones which may have had something to do with the Welsh team’s drop in form of late. It’s no secret that Jones is not happy with the persistent lack of funds at Cardiff and a move away and the promise of a purse in the Premier League would tempt him. At present though the fans have a more than willing Steve Kean who is vying for the position he holds as caretaker in a more permanent role.
Stoke manager Tony despite having his team in thirteenth will be confident that his job is safe. The Stoke boss’ last game in charge was a loss to Blackpool but that will not have done much to dent his reputation as many bigger sides have already been embarrassed by the Seasiders this season. What is less certain is whether or not Ryan Shawcross will still be in the team after the Christmas period which will be a blow to Stokes’ season. See how they line up and watch the game with live streaming football from oleolefootball.watchlive.net.

Blackburn gave their manager a great send off last time out by beating his old team Bolton at the Reebok Stadium by two goals to nil. This was Blackburn’s first away game after their fruitless visits to Arsenal, Chelsea and then Manchester United in consecutive away games; games which they lost 6-2, 5-0 and 2-0 respectively. It was a much needed victory on the road and moved the Rovers team up to eleventh in the league table with sixteen points. They do, though, have a game in hand over a few of their rivals.
Stoke City, although great at home, have only won once away from the Britannia Stadium this season, and that was, funnily enough, at high flying Tottenham a few weeks ago. They come into the game at Ewood Park on the back of a 1-0 home win over rock-bottom Portsmouth and as a consequence find themselves in ninth position in the league table with nineteen points. In their six games away from home this season they have recorded one win, three draws and have suffered two defeats.
