Sunderland will take on Blackpool at Bloomfield Road this weekend as they look close the gap on the Champion’s League spots. Sunderland will have to make sure they treat the opposition with a certain level of respect but at the same time they have to go out and get the win. Their away form has been less than brilliant in the last few trips but they did manage to get the win at Villa Park. They did though lose Bolo Zenden to a second yellow which could make the selection a little easier for Bruce but will leave their bench weakened. If Bent can continue his return to form then there is no reason why Sunderland can’t take three points from Blackpool.

Ian Holloway may be the one manager that has not been looking forward to the transfer window and with good reason. With plenty of attention on his players most notably of whom is Charlie Adam there is no wonder the manager is getting upset. Although Holloway has told his players that they will not be sold this winter it will do little to settle the team on Saturday. All Holloway can hope for is that his men knuckle down and continue with their home form. That has seen them take ten points from a possible fifteen at Bloomfield Road.
