The Reds have bossed the Trotters in recent times, winning all the last ten clashes dating back half a decade. In fact, Bolton’s last win over the Reds was in 2006, when goals from Ivan Campo and the now deceased Gary Speed gave them all three points.

The most recent clash between the two sides went 3-1 to Liverpool when goals from Jordan Henderson, Charlie Adam and Martin Skrtel proved to be too good for Bolton, who replied late through Ivan Klasnic.

Liverpool played a defensive formation at home against Stoke City last weekend and didn’t find the back of the net. Coach Kenny Dalglish was criticized for fielding five at the back and may revert to a more traditional attacking approach at the Reebok.

Second from bottom Bolton will look to upset their mighty North-West rivals Liverpool when the two sides clash in the Premiership this weekend.

Liverpool got their first win under their new owners as they saw off Sam Allarydce’s Blackburn Rovers 2-1 at Anfield. After a goalless first half, the Reds took the lead when Greek international Sotirios Kyrgiakos headed in a corner from skipper Steven Gerrard.

Blackburn equalised minutes later when Liverpool defender Paul Konchesky’s attempted clearance richochetted off team mate Jamie Carragher for an own goal. Reds striker Fernando Torres however settled the issue  when he converted a cross from new signing Joe Cole in the 53rd minute. Thereafter it was smooth sailing for Roy Hodgson’s men as Blackburn lacked a cutting edge in front of goal.

Bolton extended their unbeaten league run to five games as they drew 1-1 with Wigan Athletic in the last round of fixtures. Swedish international Johan Elmander equalised for the Trotters after Colombian star Hugo Rodallega had put the Latics ahead.

Liverpool has more than a lot to prove this weekend as they are desperate to bounce back and need to do so in a big, big way. They will be squaring off with Bolton on Saturday August 29th in a game that they should win, but their confidence has to be at a low. Bolton on the other hand will be looking for their first goal and their first win on the 2009-10 EPL season. It will be a tough match for both teams and another loss for either of them could be more than demoralizing. Tune in and see which team can turn things around by watching Bolton vs. Liverpool live right here on OleOleFootball, your home for live streaming English Premier League football.

Coming into the start of the season many people felt that Liverpool was the team to beat but that thought has been pushed aside now that the team has only 3 of a possible 9 points. Their 1-3 drubbing at the hands of Aston Villa was their first home loss in 31 games and another sign that the team is just not where they should be. Fernando Torres came up with a big goal in the middle of the game but it wasn’t enough as Aston Villa pulled away thanks to an Ashley Young penalty. Rafa Benitez has to hope he prepares his team better for this weekend as another loss would be devastating to Liverpool’s season.

Bolton was not expected to do big things this year but still have to be disappointed in the way they played. They have yet to score a goal as they lost by a score of 0-1 to Hull City and 0-1 loss to Sunderland. They have to hope that their offence picks it up and picks it up early against Liverpool or this could be a blow out.
