Burnley go into their game against Stoke at Turf Moor on Saturday on the back of a 2-0 away win at MK Dons in the third round of the FA Cup last weekend. The Cup was a welcome respite for the Clarets from their Premier League endeavours but its back to business on Saturday. In their last league game before the cup match travelled to Everton and ended up losing the match 2-0 to two late goals from the home team.

Owen Coyle’s team are currently fourteenth in the league table with twenty points, although that is only two points clear of the relegation zone at the moment. Their home form is good and in the ten games they have played at Turf Moor in the league this season they have managed five wins, four draws and have suffered just one defeat.

For their part, Stoke City travel to Burnley on the back of a 3-1 home win in the FA Cup against York City. Their last game in the Premier League was a 1-0 home defeat at the hands of in-form side Birmingham City. That defeat meant that Tony Pullis’ side dropped to twelfth in the league table and has just 21 points to their name. They do, however, have a midweek game before the weekend fixture and it will be on Tuesday evening against Fulham at the Britannia Stadium. A win in this game could move them up to tenth before the weekend game.
