Liverpool drew 0-0 with Wigan Athletic away from home in their last game. The Reds dominated the game but Wigan held firm, thanks to some fantastic keeping from Ali Al Habsi in goal. Al Habsi also saved Charlie Adam’s second half penalty as Liverpool rued the lack of cutting edge in front of goal.

Liverpool produced another insipid performance as they went down 2-0 in the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park last weekend. The Reds are second from bottom in the league currently and the only thing that prevents them from occupying the last spot is their better goal difference.

Barring captain Steven Gerrard, the Liverpool midfield looked woefully short on ideas against Everton. Joe Cole and Maxi Rodriguez gave Liverpool no bite on the wings. Rovers have also won three out of those six and losing only three games out of the last ten.

Blackburn suffered an injury blow with Jason Roberts picking up a foot fracture that could cause the striker to be out of action for up to three weeks. Rovers are also still without long term absentees Steven Reid and Brett Emerton, but midfielder Vince Grella could return after missing the victory over Tottenham last weekend.
