City’s three point lead at the top of the table was extinguished courtesy of their shock loss to Everton. Roberto Mancini’s side again missed Yaya Toure as they slumped to another defeat that left them top of the league only on goal difference from league rivals Man Utd.
City fashioned few chances of note and Samir Nasri hitting the bar once in either half was as close as they came to claiming a goal. Everton’s goal came on the hour mark through new signing Darron Gibson, himself a former Man United player.
The previous league meeting between Fulham and Man City ended in a 2-2 draw. City netted twice, both through Sergio Aguero, but Fulham staged a late comeback through goals from Bobby Zamora and Danny Murphy to clinch a point.
It is the Cottagers vs the Citizens as Manchester City host Fulham on Saturday in the Premiership.

Roberto Mancini and his Manchester City side will welcome Fulham to the City of Manchester Stadium on Sunday February 27th. You can see live streams of Man City v Fulham at oleolefootball.watchlive.net where every pass and shot is covered. The game promises to be full of entertainment as Fulham have beaten Spurs and drawn with Chelsea and Villa in recent matches and City are obviously full of ambition.
Manchester City’s Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko joined Patrick Viera and Carlos Tevez on the score sheet in a five goal routing of Notts County ion the FA Cup last Sunday and Micah Richards also found a goal from somewhere just one minute after Dzeko. With Notts County things may have been a little easier than Fulham but Fulham only winning one away game in their last five the odds are in City’s favour. Spurs let off City in the week by losing to Blackpool in a game that would have put them in third place so Roberto Mancini will be hoping to get his players back on track for another charge. He just needs to make sure that his players deal with Aris Salonika in the week before Sunday’s clash or he could be facing a crisis of confidence.
Mark Hughes is under no illusion of the kind of game that he can expect his men to be in on Sunday. Their away record is poor at the moment but he knows that Man City’s busy fixture list will be working in Fulham’s favour. When closely analysed the poor away record could be forgiven lately as the two teams they have lost to in the last five away games are Spurs and Liverpool. Fulham drew another two and won just one. Manchester City will play Fulham in the 10th week of the Barclay’s Premier league this weekend. Manchester City started the season very well but has dropped down recently and presently rests at the 5th position with 17 points. Fulham, after its win in the previous combat, is near the middle with 10 points. Can Fulham shock big spending Manchester City or will Manchester City once again display their dominance? Tune into OleOleFootball and watch the Manchester City vs. Fulham live game to find out.
Manchester City started off the season with 4 consecutive wins before its tight defeat in one of the most thrilling matches of this season against rival Manchester United. The team seemed to have lost its touch after that with 2 consecutive draws in the last two weeks. Luck was against them with Zabaleta being dismissed and Adebayor injured during the match. The ten man team had to struggle hard in the last few minutes to keep Wigan from getting the lead. The goal from Petrov shortly after half time was the only relief for Manchester City as they looked to be struggling at many points during the match. The injury to Adebayor might even bring further trouble to the team as he is the top scorer for them this season.
Fulham won its last combat in a convincing manner with a 2-0 win over Hull City last weekend. They seemed to have dominated the entire match giving very few chances to Hull City. The 44th minute goal from Zamora and 64th minute goal from Kamara got them a victory on their 130th anniversary. The team has been struggling almost throughout the season with just 3 wins coming in for them, but the last performance was surely a confidence booster.
With Fulham being high on spirits, they might have a good chance troubling Manchester City. Though Manchester City is still the favorite, they still will have to pull their socks keeping in mind their lose performances in the last couple of matches. Can Fulham use their confidence to come away with a huge win? Or will Manchester City bounce back and prove they are true competitors? Manchester City and Fulham meet on Sunday at Eastlands both with a chance of clinching a Europa League place. Only two points separate the two teams in the Premier League table and both will be looking for three points to take themselves closer to that vital seventh spot. Manchester City have been very unpredictable this season, at times they have been breathtaking to watch, but at times they have also been poor. City’s home form has been decent this season, winning ten and losing five out of the 15 games played at Eastlands so far this season. City have won their last six games at Eastlands, but suffered a 2-0 defeat at Arsenal last time out. City currently sit 10th in the Premier League table, six points off seventh spot which should be enough for a Europa League place next season.
Wayne Bridge is a doubt for Mark Hughes side after the England full back went off early at Arsenal in their last game. City do however have players returning to training with Martin Petrov, Benjani, Michael Johnson and Didi Hamann all pushing for a place back in the squad.
Fulham suffered a dramatic 1-0 home defeat to Liverpool in their last Premier League game. The Cottagers lost the game in injury time thanks to a Yossi Benayoun strike. Fulham’s away form has been poor this season and the Cottagers have only won once away from Craven Cottage. Their only away victory was a 3-1 defeat of Bolton at the Reebok Stadium, Simon Davies, Diomansy Kamara and Andrew Johnson scoring the goals. Despite that poor away form this season Fulham are just four behind seventh place West Ham and still have a chance of European qualification.
Roy Hodgson should have a fully fit squad to choose from for this trip and the former Blackburn manager will hope that his side can pick up their second away victory at unpredictable Manchester City. The Cottagers know that they need to bounce back from the late disappointment of defeat against Liverpool with a good performance at Eastlands.
