Newcastle helped their chances of survival with the 3-1 victory over Middlesbrough on Monday night. Boro took the lead through an own goal from Habib Beye, but the Magpies struck back with goals from Steven Taylor, Obafemi Martins and Peter Lovenkrands.  It was a much needed three points and it took the Geordies out of the relegation zone on goal difference.
