The Magpies are on a high, beating Manchester United 3-0 in the league and then seeing off Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup. French forward Hatem Ben Arfa scored a solo stunner against Rovers, with Jonas Gutierrez sealing the issue with a stoppage time winner.

However Alan Pardew will be without the services of Senegalese striker Demba Ba, who has been in prolific form for the Tyneside outfit this season. Ba has gone to the African Cup of Nations and Pardew will be hoping that others can step up to the task and fill the boots left by him.

QPR sacked manager Neil Warnock and replaced him with Mark Hughes following a string of poor results. Hughes’ immediate aim will be to steer them away from the drop zone, with the Hoops currently only a point above it.
