Jermaine Pennant should be ready despite being substituted thanks to discomfort in a clash last week against West Brom. Again the reserve goal key Jamie Ashdown is fit but Amir Begovic is doubtful for the match against Bolton.

The provisional Portsmouth squad against Bolton should look like this – Begovic, Gekas, Basinas, Traore, Utaka, Pamarot, Belhadj, Kanu, Kaboul, Belhadj, Crouch, Hughes, Nugent, Kranjcar, Davis, Nugent, Pennant, Mullins, Distin, Hreidarsson, Johnson, Campbell and James.

Danny Shittu, the Bony defender will be the major doubt against Portsmouth on Saturday, as he has suffered from an ankle injury. Bolton Manager Gary Megson has not made many fresh changes and is going to have faith in the same players who played in the game last weekend and this means that Chris Basham, the young mid-fielder will have to settle down at a place on bench.

The provisional squad of Bolton against Portsmouth will be - Smolarek, Puygrenier, Taylor, Hunt, Elmander, Basham, Kevin Davies, Elmander, Cohen, Gardner, Muamba, McCann, Samuel, Muamba, Andrew O'Brien, Cahill, Shittu, Al Habsi, Steinsson and Jaaskelainen. This live football match will be held at Fratton Park and will be aired live from this stadium right here on OleOleFootball.

Portsmouth drew 2-2 with West Brom at Fratton Park in their last Premier League game. Younes Kaboul and Niko Kranjcar both scored fantastic goals for the home side, with Jonathan Greening and Chris Brunt scoring for the Baggies. That result means that Portsmouth have suffered just one defeat in their last six games, the sole defeat coming against title challengers Chelsea on the 3rd March. Manager Paul Hart will be pleased with his side’s recent form and will be confident of victory. The side from the south coast are just four points clear of the relegation zone.

Midfielder Sean Davis could return to the squad after missing the visit of West Brom last weekend and England right back Glen Johnson is also expected to return to the squad after missing the West Brom game through suspension. However, Papa Bouba Diop is still likely to be missing with a knee ligament problem.

Bolton lost their last outing 4-3 at Chelsea last weekend and will be hoping to get back to winning ways with their visit to Fratton Park, the Trotters goals coming from Andy O’Brien, Chris Basham and Matt Taylor. Didier Drogba scored a brace, with Frank Lampard and Michael Ballack scoring a goal each. Despite that defeat Bolton are still seven points clear of the relegation zone and it looks like they only need one more victory to confirm their Premier League status for next season.

Bolton don’t have any new injury concerns ahead of this clash. The only injuries that Gary Megson’s side have to contend with are midfielders Joey O’Brien and Mark Davies, both of whom are long term absentees through knee problems.
