West Brom played well against Spurs last weekend, especially in the first half. The Baggies took the lead when a well-constructed move allowed Youssuf Mulumbu to put them ahead.

However a controversial penalty allowed Spurs to equalise and missed chances for Simon Cox and Chris Brunt cost the Baggies dear in the end as Spurs’ quality told at the final whistle. The Lilywhites eventually won the fixture 3-1.

QPR lost an entertaining fixture 2-1 at Carrow Road to fellow newbies Norwich City. The Hoops went behind, then managed to equalise before Grant Holt’s late goal gave Norwich all three points. Shaun Wright Phillips suffered a foot injury in the game and is a major doubt for the visit to West London.

West Bromwich Albion will look to take all three points from their first game of the new month when they take on QPR at Loftus Road.
