With Stephen Carr and Stuart Parnaby injured, McLeish could play Craig Gardner in defence instead of his usual midfield role as he’s impressed with his versatility. Ben Foster also impressed enough to get an England call up with his home debut as goal keeper. He will likely feature in the the opener on Saturday provided he comes through the England game unscathed.

Birmingham will be making the journey to the Stadium of Light this coming Saturday afternoon for a Premier League fixture against Sunderland.
