The Swans were stunned 3-0 by Queens Park Rangers on Wednesday night. Brendan Rodgers’men tried to suffocate the Hoops with their passing style of football, but were forced on the back foot when Joey Barton scored for QPR.

QPR sensed they could go for the jugular and further strikes from Jamie Mackie and Akos Buzsaky, the latter a stunner from distance, put the game beyond Swansea’s reach and gave the R’s a precious win.

Blackburn were cruelly denied a point by Andy Carroll’s late header as they went down 3-2 to Liverpool after staging a comeback from 2-0 down. In hindsight, Yakubu’s tame first half penalty proved costly for Rovers, who might have even walked away with all three points instead of none.

Swansea City will look to halt their losing run in the Premier League when they take on Blackburn Rovers on Saturday at the Liberty Stadium.
