Spurs continued their march up the table as they beat troubled Blackburn Rovers 2-1 last weekend. Dutch playmaker Rafael van der Vaart delivered the goods for Spurs, netting both goals for the Lilywhites. However Spurs also had their defenders, Younes Kaboul in particular, for an astounding performance that kept Blackburn at bay.

Blackburn delivered their best attacking performance of the season that day and there were periods when they bossed Spurs around. However the Lilywhites hung on and emerged with a hard fought 2-1 win at the end of the afternoon.

QPR stunned Chelsea 1-0, one of the weekend’s big shocks along with Manchester City’s record win over Man Utd. The Hoops were fired up for the big occasion and Chelsea had seven players yellow carded in addition to two red cards for Bosingwa and Drogba. Heidar Helguson scored the winner from the spot for Neil Warnock’s side.
