Tottenham Hotspur will play Avram Grant’s West Ham United in the English Premier League on Saturday March 19th 2011. The game is a must win tie for both Spurs who are looking for Champion’s League football and West Ham who would be happy just to play in the English Premier League next season. You can see the game by watching live streaming from oleolefootball.watchlive.net.
The Spurs players have already secured progression in the Champion’s League by beating AC Milan over two legs by way of the away goal rule. With just ten games in the Premier League left for Spurs they will be playing every game as though it is a cup final as they can’t afford to slip up with Liverpool chasing behind them in sixth place. The Merseyside team don’t play until Sunday this week so Spurs have the opportunity to stretch the lead to nine points which will pile pressure on the fragile opponents. With Bale back in action and Defoe already finding the net the Spurs fans have got plenty to look forward to in the run in.
West Ham though have turned their relegation battle on its head and are now one good win away from safety no matter how temporary it may turn out to be. The last two league games have seen West Ham score 6 goals with just one in reply and they will now have their sights set on winning Saturday’s early kick off. If Avram Grant can pull off a great win for the fans then consideration may be in line to revoke the marching orders which he has been as good as given. North London meets East London at White Hart Lane this coming Monday as Tottenham Hotspur take on West Ham United for an English Premier League fixture. The sides have enjoyed conflicting fortunes so far this season, with Spurs flying high and West Ham battling it out at the wrong end of the table. See how the two teams get on in their game by joining us right here at oleolefootball.watchlive.net and enjoying the live streaming soccer from England at its very best.
Before the teams commence battle on Monday, they both have weekend fixtures to traverse first. Tottenham travel to Fulham in what is another London derby, while West Ham entertain Portsmouth at Upton park. At the time of writing this article the results of the weekend games are as yet unknown.
Prior to the weekend games, then, Harry Redknapp's team are flying high in the Premier League and they currently occupy fifth position with 33 points. Despite a little dip in form a few weeks ago when the team went three games without a victory (following the 9-1 trouncing of Wigan), Spurs have come back strong and have won their last two Premier League games. At home Spurs have played nine league games in total and have won six of those while losing the other three.
Gianfranco Zola’s West Ham side are in all sorts of trouble at the wrong end of the table, and this despite holding league leaders Chelsea to a 1-1 draw at Upton Park last weekend. The team are second last in the table and have fifteen points to their name, just one above bottom side Portsmouth.
Tune into oleolefootball.watchlive.net this coming Monday for live streaming coverage of the Tottenham Hotspur vs. West Ham United match from the English Premier League.
Tottenham and West Ham meet at White Hart Lane on Saturday, looking to help their bids for a Europa League spot next season. Tottenham are suddenly looking up after hitting a good run of form and are six points behind the Hammers who are in that vital seventh spot. Tottenham have been in decent form in recent weeks, but lost their last game 2-1 at Blackburn late on. Harry Redknapp’s side were leading with ten minutes to go, thanks to a Robbie Keane penalty. The game completely changed in the 80th minute as midfielder Wilson Palacios was dismissed for a second bookable offence. Rovers fought back and found two goals in the last eight minutes to send Spurs home with nothing. Tottenham had a good record before that defeat to Blackburn, winning four out of their previous five games.
Harry Redknapp should have a near full squad of players to available. The one player who won’t take any part in this clash is midfielder Wilson Palacios after that sending off at Blackburn last weekend. Ivory Coast international Didier Zokora is likely to replace the Honduran in the centre of the Spurs midfield.
West Ham defeated strugglers Sunderland 2-0 at Upton Park last Saturday. Both goals came from graduates of the Hammers youth academy, debutant Junior Stanislas and James Tomkins scoring the two goals. James Tomkins impressed at the centre of the West Ham defence and winning man of the match, as well as scoring his goal. That victory put the West Ham into seventh in the Premier League, a position good enough for European football next season.
The Hammers have received a boost this week with young stars James Tomkins and Mark Noble signing new contracts at the club. West Ham will have to again do without star striker Carlton Cole and Radoslav Kovac is also a doubt. Gianfranco Zola will however be able to select Calum Davenport in his squad after the defender missed the 2-0 defeat of Sunderland.
