Spurs caught up with second placed Manchester United on points by beating Everton 2-0 on Wednesday night. Defender Benoit Assou-Ekotto had a hand in both goals, with a long ball to set up Aaron Lennon for the first, and a long range stunner from his own boot that took a slight deflection off Tim Cahill en route past Tim Howard.

The win was done despite Spurs taking the field without star midfielders Scott Parker and Sandro and defender Ledley King. Harry Redknapp was pleased with the victory but again stressed the importance of taking it one game at a time.

Tottenham won the reverse fixture between the two sides 2-0 in September last month. Emmanuel Adebayor and Jermain Defoe were the scorers for the Lilywhites on that occasion, with both goals coming in the second half.

Tottenham Hotspur will look to do the double over relegation threatened Wolverhampton when the two sides meet in the league this weekend.

Harry Redknapp will welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers to White Hart Lane to play in the Premierships fifth week fixture. You can see how both clubs perform with live streaming football action at oleolefootball.watchlive.net. The London club have been on a bit of a flat period with a loss to Wigan and a draw with West Bromwich Albion in their last two league games. This could be where it gets turned around as they push for another successful season this year in the Premiership.

Harry’s injuries are mounting up especially up front and it’s expected Defoe will be out for at least another six weeks. The striker has said that he will try and come back sooner but it looks like Pavlyuchenko will have to lead the line for the moment. Crouch though may be fit enough for a start at the weekend but he will have to undergo an assessment before Saturday to establish his full fitness levels. Modric has returned to the pitch after injury and is looking good so he will be another start for the Wolves game.

Mick McCarthy has done well with what he had so far and is currently in ninth place in the table. Not wanting to slip further back, he will probably field a defensive team away from home. If Wolves can manage to hold their own for the first 70 minutes, he may send Marcus Bent on to back up Ebanks-Blake and Doyle up front. The pair are doing well on their own but they may need to be on form to steal a goal at the Lane. You can see what happens with live premiership streams at oleolefootball.watchlive.net.

Premier League Live

Last weekend Tottenham travelled to Everton and Harry Redknapp still cannot understand how his team snatched a point from the jaws of victory! Although half time came and went with a 0- score line, it didn’t take Spurs long to race into a 2-0 lead at the start of the second half. Jermaine Defoe opened the scoring on 47 minutes and when Dawson hit a second in the 59th minute the game for all intents and purposes was over.

Everton had other ideas though, despite Spurs missing a hatful of chances to make it 3-0. With the clock ticking towards the 79th minute, Louis Saha pulled a goal back for the home side and when Tim Cahill netted on 86 minutes the stadium erupted in joy. But that wasn’t the end of the action. With the watch approaching 95 minutes and the referee looking at his whistle to blow for full time, Spurs won a penalty. Defoe took the spot kick but the shot was brilliantly saved by Everton keeper Tim Howard.

Wolves come into the game on the back of a 2-1 home win over Bolton; a much welcome three points for McCarthy’s men. The win took the team up to eighteenth in the league table and they now have thirteen points.
