The Baggies will welcome December United to the Hawthorns on Sunday for an English Premier League fixture in the 2010/11 season. Saturday, August 8^th, starting at 17:30 GMT, West Bromwich and Newcastle will play in the Coca Colas Championship These two teams were relegated to the Championship from the 2008-2009 Premier League season, WBA after losing 2-0 against Liverpool, and Newcastle after a game on the final day at Aston Villa, ending a sixteen year history of being on the Premier League list. Now, West Bromwich tries to cope with the loss of manager Tony Mowbray, but so far Roberto Di Matteo has been a competent replacement.

Mowbray left, claiming a strained relationship with the WBA Chairman Jeremy Peace and has moved onto Celtic. The team still has their core players, new Captain Jonathan Greening for one, as well as two other midfielders Chris Brunt and Robert Koren, but Paul Robinson is out on loan to Bolton and so they won't be able to benefit from his defense experience. However, the team does have forward Simon Cox, in a deal that purportedly was around one and a half million pounds, and he is expected to start this game with Ishmael Miller.

Newcastle United however have no manager for the game at Hawthorn on Saturday, leaving Chris Houghton in charge. No one new lights up the field for Newcastle but some losses may affect the weekend's game, such as striker Obafemi Martins, who is playing for Hoffenheim, also playing a game this Saturday and Michael Owen was part of a deal made with Manchester United. However the team has three in a row, beating the Rovers, Darlington and Hudderafield. Things turned badly afterwards however, with a 5 point loss to Leyton and two draws.
