The Latics will welcome Aston Villa to the DW Stadium to play a Premier League game which could be their first home win this year if they get it right. Both of these teams have what it takes to collect three points on the night and it should make for a very entertaining game. Aston Villa have been playing a little less than their best for a while now and this match could be viewed as an opportunity to put their season on track. You can see which team deserves the points with live streaming football at oleolefootball.watchlive.net.

Wigan Athletic have been will have no intention handing the result to Villa on a plate. Gerard Houllier knows that a win could take them to safety and away from relegation places but he may have made things difficult for himself and his players with his comments in the media. After a week where he has accused his fellow Premier League managers of ‘ganging up’ on him the players must feel a little persecuted too. The confidence in the Frenchman has been good amongst the dressing room and with new signing Darren Bent ready to take to the field things may have turned a corner for the midlands club.

Roberto Martinez has been under pressure a little this season particularly because of his side’s home record. Having won just one of their last five matches at the DW stadium they really need to take the points on Tuesday night. Whether Wigan get all three or just the one point, it will not have been from a lack of effort from Hugo Rodallega. This game could prove very entertaining as a result and you can watch with live streams at oleolefootball.watchlive.net.

The Latics will welcome Aston Villa to the DW Stadium to play their eighteenth league game of the season. Both these sides will be out for the win and although Wigan haven’t lost at home in their last seven games they haven’t won any game out of the last five. Aston Villa too needs to win to stabilise things for their new manager but even that may not be enough. You can see which team has the upper hand with live streaming football at oleolefootball.watchlive.net.

Wigan have played well at home and it took a good Manchester City side to beat them way back in September. They also seem to have plugged some of the holes in defence despite conceding two goals against Everton. With plenty going on both on and off field in the Premiership Roberto Martinez will count himself lucky for not being included. The same cannot be said for his opponent this weekend.

Gerrard Houllier has been the subject of a revolt in the dressing room and at the training ground where perhaps unjustly the players have not backed him since his gaff in interview. Richard Dunne has been the most vocal in his opinions and fell out with assistant coach Gary McAllister this week. The player who has deputised for Petrov in his absence did not feature last week in the starting line up and is unlikely to start this week wither. The team have been given two days off while tempers cool down so they should be rested for the trip to Wigan. Whoever makes the pitch, this should be a great game to watch and you can see every kick of this game with live streams at oleolefootball.watchlive.net.

Aston Villa are currently seventh in the league and the aim is for the team to at least make it to the top four. Their last game was against Reading in the FA cup and they managed a convincing 4-2 win. This week Martin O’Neil has told his strikers that he wants them to increase their work rate and produce more goals. Villa will be travelling to Britannia Stadium to play Stoke City before travelling to the DW Stadium midweek.

Wigan are now fifteenth in the league and at risk of falling into the drop zone if they don’t start winning more games. They played Liverpool last Monday and were able to get a 1-0 win with a nice strike from Hugo Rodallega. Liverpool put up a lacklustre performance and Wigan was able to punish them for it. The Latics have a game against Bolton at the weekend before the encounter with Aston Villa. Wigan Athletic and Aston Villa square up to each other this coming Saturday afternoon as the English Premier League resumes normal duty after the break for the FA Cup third round last weekend. Premier League Live

Wigan Athletic have not won in five Premier League games and sit perilously close to the relegation zone. In fact, the team have only won once in their last nine league outings, a run that has seen them drop to sixteenth in the league table with nineteen points to their name – just one point above the relegation zone.

Last time out Wigan had the unfortunate experience of travelling to Old Trafford to play Manchester United and was lucky to come away with just a 5-0 thumping. They could have, and really should have, lost by more and the players must have been well aware of the fact that they have already lost one game this season by the incredible margin of 9-1! At home so far this season Wigan have played nine times. They have won three of these, drawn three and lost the other three.

Martin O’Neill’s Aston Villa side have had a marvellous season so far, but seem to have lost their way in the last couple of games. Their woes started when they were comprehensively beaten at Arsenal, and then compounded when they took on a dodgy looking Liverpool side at Villa Park and lost that game also, this time 1-0 to an injury time goal by Fernando Torres.
