Wigan have had a superb season, currently sitting in 11^th place, six points off the Europa League place with a game in hand. Wigan’s form in the last six games has been poor; the Latic’s have suffered four defeats in the last six games. That run of form has seen them lose ground in the race for a European spot. The Wigan bosses only other worry is Korean midfielder Cho Won-Hee, who is out injured for the rest of the season with a calf muscle strain.

Bolton lay in 13^th place in the Premier League, after drawing their last game 1-1 with Aston Villa at the Reebok Stadium. Villa took the lead through Ashley Young, before Israeli midfielder Tamir Cohen scored a vital equaliser to secure a point. That point leaves them seven points off the drop zone. One more victory could secure the Trotters safety and allow manager Gary Megson to start thinking about strengthening his threadbare squad in the summer.

Bolton go into this clash without midfielders Joey O’Brien and Mark Davies, who are both long term absentees with knee problems. They also have doubts over defenders Danny Shittu and Ricardo Gardner. Tamir Cohen is set to continue in midfield after impressing and scoring against Aston Villa.
