Sunderland will look to carry on from where they left against Manchester City when they take on Wigan on Tuesday at the DW Stadium. Watch Wigan vs Sunderland live online as it happens by joining Ole Ole Football today.
The Black Cats stunned table toppers Manchester City 1-0 on Sunday afternoon. Playing at home, the Wearsiders made light of their mounting injury problems and snatched a last gasp winner to leave City stunned.
Sunderland boss Martin O’Neill had cobbled together a makeshift defence whose position got worse when Wes Brown hobbled off. However skipper Lee Cattermole put in a Man of the Match performance as the North-East outfit defended for their lives in the second half and then got a winner at the death through Ji Dong-Won.
The result continued Sunderland’s resurgence under O’Neill and they will now be very hopeful of taking points at Wigan, who drew 2-2 at Stoke City in their last game. The Latics took the lead, then fell behind and finally had Ben Watson to thank for an equalising penalty.
Sunderland will look to move even further clear of the relegation zone when they meet Wigan Athletic on Tuesday in the Premiership.
Will the Black Cats continue their great run at the Latics’ expense? See live feeds from Wigan vs Sunderland online at Ole Ole Football and find out.
Wigan Athletic will welcome Sunderland to the DW Stadium as both teams seek to establish themselves as middle of the table contenders this season. You can see which team is more deserving with live streaming footy at oleolefootball.watchlive.net. There are positives that both teams can take in to this fixture and they will both believe that there are three points up for grabs here.
The Latics are coming off the back of an impressive win against Tottenham Hostpur that followed two defeats with large scores. So the win came at the right time as any more bad results could have meant that they would have had a mountain of poor morale to cope with. Luckily Roberto Martinez managed to rally his team somehow and should be expecting them to be buoyed enough to get at least a point at home. Hugo Rodallega managed to pull off an injury time winner in the Spurs game and will be crucial to the success of the Latics this season. Jordi Gómez and McCarthy will also need to continue their form if they are to get any sort of stability in the side.
Sunderland manger Steve Bruce will also be confident of coming away with all three points after the excellent result at home against a very strong Manchester City side. They have however, lost to west Brom and drawn with Birmingham this year so their season has not been plain sailing. Malbranque and Henderson will have to try and boss the middle of the park if they are to get service to Darren Bent and Frazier Campbell. Both players have it in their toolbox to make it a tough game for the defenders. See if they can salvage a point or even get all three out of the game with live footy streams at oleolefootball.watchlive.net.

Wigan will be hoping to improve upon their average start to the season when they host Sunderland this Saturday 13th of September 2008 at the JJB Stadium, our coverage starting from 15:00 GMT.
Wigan shot back into form with a smashing 5-0 victory over highflying Hull City last weekend. Faced up with a team that had a victory and a draw till then, Wigan put up a marvellous performance and that victory will do a world of good to Steve Bruce’s side that narrowly managed to escape relegation last season. Wigan have looked impressive up front with Emile Heskey in particular continuing to show the fine form that put him up for England national team reckoning and he will be expected to cause Sunderland a worry or two at the JJB this coming Saturday.
Sunderland is currently in eighteenth position in the table and they will be hoping to improve up their current standing when they come up against Wigan this time around. Roy keane has spent heavily in the transfer market without much success so far and despite their 2-1 win over Tottenham, the Black cats will be expected to do much more in the league. Sunderland come into this clash on the back of a defeat by Manchester City and with Anthony Stokes leaving the club, El Hadji Diouf and Kenwyin Jones will play a major part in their success away from home against Wigan this weekend.

Steve Bruce’s much improved Sunderland side travel to play shell-shocked Wigan this coming Saturday in an English Premier League clash that you can watch live and online right here at oleolefootball.watchlive.net – the internet’s number one resource for live streaming soccer from the English Premier League.
Wigan have now only won one game in the last six league encounters and last week were the recipients of a morale damaging score line at White Hart Lane against Tottenham. They lost the match 9-1 (yes, nine) to Harry Redknapp’s Spurs side and only time will tell how damaging that was to the Wigan teams morale. It will be interesting to see if manager Martinez can pick his troops up for what is potentially a difficult tie against Sunderland.
The Wigan team have now shipped fourteen goals in the last three league games and that, by anyone’s standards is very poor indeed. They will have to try and plug the gaps at the back before they can think about pulling themselves out of their dire position – sixteenth in the league table and dropping like a stone.
For their part, Sunderland go into the match against Wigan on the back of a magnificent 1-0 home win against Arsenal and at the same time became the first team this season not to concede a goal from the Gunners. The result against Arsenal meant that Steve Bruce’s team have beaten two of the so-called top four teams at home this season (Arsenal and Liverpool), and have drawn 2-2 away at another (Manchester United).
The team currently lie in eighth position in the league table and have twenty points to their name. Away from home they have one win, one draw and four defeats.
