Last week Birmingham City proved their Premier League pedigree taking a point from a tough match against a very tough Spurs side. Wolverhampton Wanderers are not enjoying the best of starts to the season. They have only won two games all season, with only one of them coming at home, so Sunday’s game could prove to be vital in their efforts of avoiding relegation this season and going straight back down to the Championship.

For their part, Birmingham City, although not currently doing too well, are very optimistic over their future, especially since the takeover by Hong Kong tycoon Carson Yeung. With millions of pounds promised in the next transfer window (which is in little over a month away), Birmingham boss Alex McLeish will be rubbing his hands in anticipation.

Birmingham are currently thirteenth in the league with fifteen points, and they go into the Midlands derby against Wolves on the back of a 1-0 home win against Fulham.
