Last week Bolton Wanderers showed their Premier League pedigree with a 4-2 dismantling of Tottenham. This week it’s a trip to the Molineux for Wolves v Bolton and you can watch with live streams at oleolefootball.watchlive.net. The visitors will seek to build on that victory and with another 3 points but Wolves may have something to say about that.
Wolves will definitely have their work cut out when they play Bolton who have had a great season so far under Owen Coyle. After playing Man United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City in the last couple of weeks Mick McCarthy could be forgiven for saying his side needs a rest but that is something he is not likely to get until at least Saturday evening. Normally he would have welcomed a visit from Bolton after playing against some of the best teams in the league but the challenge of Bolton is much greater than in recent years.
Coyle will no doubt play Kevin Davies and Martin Petrov as the two seem to be relishing their roles and Elmander who has been inspirational in his work rate is also a favourite to start on Saturday. Gary Cahill and Zat Knight too have been looking solid and with Knight’s threat from set pieces the manager must be grateful to whatever deity is smiling upon Bolton right now. This game could establish Bolton as real contenders for European football this year as the premiership looks less certain about the pecking order of the teams. Mick McCarthy’s beleaguered Wolverhampton Wanderers side host Bolton Wanderers this coming Saturday for an English Premier League clash at Molineaux. With his team sitting in second last position in the league, McCarthy knows his team have to start producing results or else face a desperate relegation battle after the Christmas period. Last time out Wolves entertained Birmingham City in a Midlands derby they knew they had to get some points from. As it happened, they went down to a 1-0 defeat by a goal that was scored as early as the third minute from Birmingham’s Lee Bowyer. The result will do nothing to cheer the Wolves faithful, who have seen their team go eight league games without a victory.
In fact, McCarthy’s team have only won two games all season. They have drawn four more, but more importantly, have lost eight games already this season. At the moment the team are definitely showing relegation form and if they don’t pick up sooner rather than later the battle to avoid relegation will become desperate.
For their part, Gary Megson’s Bolton Wanderers team have only won once in their last seven Premier League encounters and his team have slipped down the table alarmingly. They now occupy eighteenth position in the league table and only have twelve points to their name. The team only have three wins all season, although they have been more successful away from home, winning two games, drawing one and losing three.
