City lost their second place position in the league as they went down 3-0 to Arsenal last week. Derdyck Boyata’s dismissal early in the first half for his cynical foul on Marouane Chamakh hurt City a fair bit, but Roberto Mancini’s side were still in the game at half time as they had conceded only once.

However once Alexandre Song got Arsenal’s second goal, City had resigned themselves to their fate and they conceded one more late in the fixture to end up losing 3-0. City keeper Joe Hart however did manage to save a Cesc Fabregas penalty in the first half.

Wolves tried their best against league leaders Chelsea last weekend but the champions’ class told by the final whistle as they ran out 2-0 winners. David Edwards and Kevin Doyle both went close for Wolves, who had nine attempts on target in the full fixture.

Manchester City sacked manager Mark Hughes after last weekend’s 4-3 victory over Sunderland and replaced him with Italian Roberto Mancini. With City currently sitting in sixth place in the league with 29 points, the new boss has guaranteed the owners a top four finish this season. It remains to be seen whether the Italian can deliver on his promise.
