The last two league visitors to Molineux were Tottenham Hotspur and Queens Park Rangers and both London outfits managed to get the better of the home side. Wolves did thump Millwall 5-0 after these two losses but that was in the League Cup, not the Premier League.
Wolves’ last league fixture was against mighty Liverpool, a fixture where they tried their best in the second half but were unable to add to Steven Fletcher’s early strike after the interval.
Newcastle put Blackburn Rovers to the sword last weekend and took their points tally to 12 points with a 3-1 win. Striker Demba Ba netted all three goals for the Magpies as they comfortably eased past Steve Kean’s men.

Last week Newcastle United showed their Premier League pedigree with a 6-0 thrashing of Aston Villa. This week it’s a trip to Molineux for Wolves v Newcastle and you can watch with live streams at oleolefootball.watchlive.net. The Magpies will seek to build on that victory and with another three points but Wolves may have something to say about that. They have had a pretty good start so far after beating Stoke at home and drawing with Everton at Goodison Park.
Andy Carroll is the new hero of Newcastle with the youngster playing people off the park in his last game. His energy levels were high to say the least and after being given the coveted No.9 shirt by manager Chris Hughton he looks set to emulate Newcastle legend Shearer. The youngster is averaging more than a goal a game all this year and intends to carry on with that form. The Newcastle midfield players Barton, Smith, Gutierrez and Nolan are also playing well and should more than cope with a return to the premiership. Enrique the Spanish defender has also impressed and will be an inspiration to the rest of the Magpies defence.
Wolves will definitely have their work cut out because although they salvaged a point against Everton, they were less than convincing last week. Sylvan Ebanks-Blake managed to get an equalizer at the 75 minute mark to snatch a draw from the meeting. Mick McCarthy blamed himself for their poor first half performance against David Moyes’s team but will not be let off in the same way this week.
