Neil Lennon’s Celtic will welcome Aberdeen to Celtic Park for their meeting in the SPL this Saturday 22 January. Lennon's side entered the Christmas period three points off the pace of the league leaders Rangers but what a difference a couple of weeks can make as Celtic are now top and five points clear although they have played more games than Rangers. See if they can win to stay in front with live streaming football at oleolefootball.watchlive.net.
Aberdeen have been playing some nice football which means it is unfortunate that they are down in ninth place. They have taken ten points from their last possible twelve which is the same as Celtic so for the time being they have been keeping pace with their opponents this week. With Vernon scoring four in four they have at least one player who is in top form and he will be one to watch for the Celtic defence. If Aberdeen can get him free then he will find the net so it’s all about the service he gets from the middle of the park.
Celtic will play with their twenty two year old Irish international striker Anthony Stokes as their main threat. The lad from Dublin has been in great shape and has scored on his last two outings for Celtic. Jamie Forrest is still suspended in midfield after seeing red against the Accies but that should not prove to detrimental to the Celtic cause as they have more than enough to handle the visitors. You can see how they handle them with live streams from oleolefootball.watchlive.net.
After winning their game after conceding first place in the Scottish Premier League the Hoops will want to continue to pile on the pressure for the top spot in Scotland. Celtic will play Aberdeen this Saturday and manager Neil Lennon will want a repeat of their 3 – 0 win against them in this fixture last season. With the race for the top spot still very much on Rangers will be watching closely as they wait for their game the next day. You can see what happens for yourself with live streaming SPL action from oleolefootball.watchlive.net.
Celtic will be happy that Northern Irish midfielder Niall McGinn has found some sort of form. The twenty three year old has scored three goals in the last two games and has taken some of the pressure off the front men. Lennon will be thankful though for having so many goal scorers neither he will nor the players in the side will wonder where the goals are going to come from. The team will remain fairly unchanged from the St. Johnstone fixture which saw Celtic to a three goal to nothing league win. All the manager can do ask tell his players to keep doing what they are doing and to wait for Rangers to make a mistake.
Aberdeen though will be keen to see Vernon produce some more goals and if Hartley can continue to contribute from the midfield then there is always a chance that the visitors can nick some points. Aberdeen’s problem will be their away form as the side have lost their last four games on the road. They will be shown no mercy by Celtic so manager McGhee will have to come up with a miracle if they are to get a win. See what happens with live streaming football at oleolefootball.watchlive.net.

Celtic returned to the summit of the SPL this past weekend when they managed to beat St. Mirren 3-1 at home in conjunction with Rangers 1-0 away defeat at Aberdeen. They now lead the way on 27 points with Rangers in second place with 25, although the Gers have a game in hand over the Hoops.
Tony Mowbray’s men need the win on Saturday to continue their efforts of keeping up with Rangers, but their plans worked out even better after they won and Rangers lost. Celtic raced into a 2-0 lead over St. Mirren, only for the visitors to pull one back just before half time. Despite this, celtic never really looked like losing their grip on the tie, and indeed stretched their lead on 61 minutes when McDonald netted for the home side.
This current season in the SPL looks to be one of the closest for years, with both Hibs and Dundee United pushing the Glasgow giants close. It is for this reason that celtic will not want to take their foot off the gas when they face the Dons at celtic park this coming Saturday.
As mentioned above, last weekend Aberdeen beat Rangers 1-0 at Pittodrie, at the same time cementing their current league position. They are still sixth in the table, but have increased the gap to seventh place to five points.

The gap between Celtic and Rangers was reduced to one point last week as the Bhoys drew against Hearts and Rangers beat Motherwell. Bruno Aguiar was the party spoiler for Celtic- his equaliser gave Hearts a point at Tynecastle.
Celtic had a dream start against Jambos, with Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink scoring his fifth goal of the season in the very first minute of the game. However Aguiar equalised after half an hour with a wonderful free kick, and Celtic were unable to find that second goal which would have given them all three points. However Vennegoor of Hesselink may not future this weekend after aggravating his thigh injury against Hearts. Giorgios Samaras and Stephen McManus are also fitness doubts, but Shaun Maloney could make a return this weekend.
Aberdeen are currently fourth in the table, with 48 points from 32 games. They are five points behind third placed Hearts. The Dons hold the final Europa League qualifying spot at this moment, but Dundee United are hot on their heels. Aberdeen are ahead of United on goal difference.
Aberdeen gained revenge for their opening day loss at Pittodrie by beating relegation threatened Inverness Caledonian Thistle 1-0 last week. Gary McDonald scored the winner in the 79th minute, heading home a Charlie Mulgrew free kick.
