Celtic’s Scottish Cup game at Morton last weekend was postponed due to the adverse weather condition affecting Scotland at the moment, so they will be well rested for the visit of Falkirk on Saturday. Celtic’s last game in the league though was the Old Firm clash against Rangers which happened two weeks ago at Celtic Park. The game ended in a 1-1 draw but Tony Mowbray’s men were very unfortunate not to take all three points in a match they dominated. For their part, Falkirk come into the game at Parkhead on the back of a 1-0 home defeat to Hearts in their last league game. Due to the weather and subsequent postponements, that game was actually played back on Boxing Day, so the Falkirk players haven’t actually had a game in more than two weeks. As a point of interest, they are still in last place in the league with 12 points.

Falkirk have lost both their encounters so far in the 2008-09 Clydesdale Bank Premier League with the second defeat last weekend against Hibernian. In a closely fought contents, Hibs edged out Falkirk to win 3-2. In other news, Crystal Palace goalkeeper Scott Flinders has joined Falkirk on loan for the first half of the season as Falkirk look on to build on their commendable performance last season.
