The goal machine up front for Glasgow Rangers Kenny Miller will have his work cut out against the Dundee defence. They have been playing well under pressure at the back and Kenneth, Dillon, Robertson and Dixon have been putting in some very respectable performances and could prove hard to break down. Their only major defeat was to Rangers and that is not something they will want to repeat.
If Bougherra and Whittaker can play their best game then Weir and Papac should be able to hold strong with them and the Rangers defence will be impregnable. Davies should be able to provide plenty of service from the middle of the park and that will mean either Naismith or Lafferty will be able link well with Miller to keep the home team guessing.

Dundee, current leaders of the Scottish First Division, beat Raith Rovers 2-1 in the league on Saturday. Colin McMenamin gave Jocky Scott’s side the lead in the 15th minute, but Raith equalised five minutes later through Darren Smith. However Gary Mackenzie restored the Dees’ lead on 35 minutes, and despite a spell of pressure from the visitors in the second half, Dundee held on to win 2-1.
Dundee needed extra time to beat Aberdeen in the third round of the competition. Eddie Malone’s header and Craig Forsyth’s close range effort put Dundee 2-0 ahead, but the Dons fought back in the second half with a brace from Michael Paton. Leigh Griffiths won the game for Dundee in the 105th minute after capitalising on an error from Jamie Langfield.
Rangers, who were thrashed 4-1 in the Champions League by Unirea Urziceni, completed a disappointing week by drawing 1-1 with Hibs. Kris Boyd put the home side ahead after just eight minutes, but Anthony Stokes grabbed a point for Hibs with his 63rd minute equaliser.
Gers boss Walter Smith has quite a few injury worries. Lee McCulloch picked up a thigh strain against Hibs and has joined Majid Bougherra, Pedro Mendes, Kirk Broadfoot, Maurice Edu and Kevin Thomson on the sidelines. Young Danny Wilson, still in his teens, is likely to partner veteran David Weir in the centre of defence.
