Rangers were poor against Falkirk at Westfield on Sunday, but still won 1-0 thanks to Kris Boyd’s 25^th goal of the season. Without captain Barry Ferguson and goalkeeper Allan McGregor, who have been hit with a two week suspension for their behaviour on national duty, Rangers were sloppy and gave away possession too easily.

To add to their problems, midfielder Lee McCulloch damaged his calf again, and he is likely to be out of action for four weeks. He joins strikers Kyle Lafferty and Kenny Miller on the sidelines. Smith has himself admitted that his side cannot afford any more people being suspended or injured.

St.Mirren took the lead in their last game against Inverness, but then conceded twice to end up losing the game. Andy Dorman put the Buddies ahead in the seventh minute, only for Filipe Morais to equalise for Inverness before half time.

Morais then struck again in the 49^th minute to give Inverness a valuable win, and leave St.Mirren in the middle of a relegation dogfight. The Saints have not won in the SPL since December, but their manager Gus Macpherson and captain John Potter believe that the club will avoid the drop. St.Mirren have drawn more games at home than any other club in the 12 team SPL. After Hamilton Academical, they are the team with the most SPL defeats away from home.
