Milan beat Bari 3-2 last weekend in a five goal thriller. The Rossoneri went ahead through Massimo Ambrosini’s header in the 4th minute and doubled their advantage through a low shot from Mathieu Flamini shortly after half an hour had passed on the clock.
Bari pulled one back through Vitaly Kutuzov in the 65th minute, but Milan’s two goal cushion was restored seven minutes later by Brazilian star Alexandre Pato after he collected a pass from compatriot Ronaldinho. Paulo Barreto’s late goal was to prove nothing more than mere consolation for the Apulians.
Palermo bounced back from a disappointing loss to CSKA Moscow in the Europa League as they beat Genoa 1-0 on Sunday. Mauricio Ferreira Pinilla scored the only goal of the game shortly before half time after being set up by Javier Pastore. Pinilla had missed a host of chances for Palermo prior to scoring and the Sicilians thoroughly deserved their win at the end.

Milan drew level in the 64th minute when Alain Rochat gave away a penalty by fouling Marco Borriello in the box. Playmaker Ronaldinho sent Zurich keeper Johnny Leoni the wrong way to tie the scores.

Palermo will welcome Fabio Liverani back from suspension, but will be without skipper Fabrizio Miccoli, who is serving a longer ban for insulting the fourth official in Palermo’s 1-0 loss to Chievo Verona.

Evergreen forward Filippo Inzaghi scored a hat trick in Milan’s 5-1 demolition of Torino last week. The win took Milan to second place, ahead of third placed Juventus on goal difference.
Milan beat the Hungarian League Team 5-2 in a midweek friendly in Budapest. Kaka celebrated his birthday by scoring Milan’s equaliser on the night. Andriy Shevchenko netted a brace, and Clarence Seedorf and Tabare Viudez also found the back of the net as Milan scored five goals for the second time running.
Palermo are three points behind AS Roma, who currently hold the final Europa League spot. Manuel Belleri’s own goal gave Palermo the lead, and strikes from Simon Kjaer and Davide Succi made it 3-0 midway through the second half.
Edison Cavani added a fourth in stoppage time after Marco Di Vaio had pulled one back for the visitors as Palermo ran out deserved winners at the Renzo Barbera. Brazilian Ronaldinho scored a late consolation goal from the spot for Milan.
