Milan are two points behind Juventus, who play league leaders Inter on Saturday. Should Juve lose to the Nerazzurri , a win for Milan would lift Carlo Ancelotti’s team into second place. Milan currently have 61 points from 31 games.
Milan beat Chievo 1-0 last week. Veteran Dutch midfielder Clarence Seedorf scored the winner for Milan, extending their unbeaten run in the Serie A to seven games. However it was not an easy win for Milan. Chievo forward Sergio Pellissier had a goal disallowed for offside and Brazilian keeper Dida had to make an excellent save to deny Giuseppe Colluci.
Torino moved out of the drop zone last week with a 2-1 win over Catania, but the Granata are aware that the clouds of relegation are still looming over Stadio Olimpico. They are only one point ahead of Bologna, who are currently eighteenth in the table.
Cesare Natali grabbed the winner against Catania after Jorge Martinez had cancelled out Rolando Bianchi’s opener. The victory halted a streak of four straight defeats, and Torino fans will be hoping that there are better times ahead. Torino boss Giancarlo Camonese does not have very happy memories of the San Siro- the last time he took Torino to Milan, his side were thrashed 6-0, with striker Filippo Inzaghi scoring a hat trick.
Torino drew 2-2 with Milan when the two teams met in November 2008. Roberto Stellone and Alessandro Rosina were the scorers for Torino then. Can the Granata get at least a point this weekend? Watch AC Milan v Torino live to find out.
