Third placed Roma will look to avoid the fate that befell Eternal City rivals Lazio last weekend when they travel to Bologna on Sunday. See all the action live from Bologna vs Roma on your computer by joining Ole Ole Football today.
Roma beat Juventus 2-0 in a midweek Coppa Italia quarterfinal clash. Mirko Vucinic gave Roma the lead midway through the second half with a wonderful curling effort after being picked out by an excellent pass from Simone Perrotta. Brazilian Rodrigo Taddei put the nail in Juventus’ coffin with his goal in the first minute of extra time. Midfielder Daniele de Rossi curled in a free kick from deep and Taddei took advantage of some atrocious marking from the Juventus defenders to produce an acrobatic finish.
Roma are currently third in Serie A with 38 points from 21 outings. Their last league game was against Cagliari, a fixture that the Giallorossi won 3-0. Francesco Totti set the ball rolling with his 21st minute penalty and second half goals from Perrotta and Jeremy Menez allowed Roma to get the better of their opponents.
Marco di Vaio came to haunt his old club as Bologna stunned Lazio 3-1 at home last weekend. Di Vaio scored a goal in either half to allow the Rossoblu to register their first home league win since early December. Gaston Ramirez was the scorer of the other goal against Lazio for Bologna.
The surprise win against Lazio gave Bologna some much needed breathing space in the second half of the table. They are now six points clear of the relegation zone, having picked up 25 points from 21 games.
