Milan thrashed Lecce 4-0 at home in their opening league game of the 10/11 season. Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato opened the scoring in the 16^th minute after being set up by Massimo Ambrosini. Seven minutes later, Pato’s country mate, defender Thiago Silva scored Milan’s second.

The Rossoneri were in no mood to slow down as Pato and Ronadinho combined to score their third in the 29^th minute. Milan continued to offer no respite as Clarence Seedorf and Marco Borriello both came close to scoring, with the latter managing to find the back of the net only to see his effort disallowed for offside.

Lecce’s night of misery was complete when veteran striker Filippo Inzaghi netted Milan’s fourth of the game in the dying minutes. New signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic is expected to make his league debut for Milan this weekend. The tall Swede watched the game against Lecce from the stands and is expected to take Marco Borriello’s place in Milan’s starting XI against Cesena. Brazilian star Robinho could also make his maiden appearance in a Milan jersey this weekend.

Cesena achieved a creditable result in their first league game of the 10/11 season- they held Milan’s title rivals AS Roma to a goalless draw. The Seahorses will be extremely pleased if they get a similar result against Massimiliano Allegri’s men.
