October was a horror month for Brescia in the league. They suffered defeats against Lazio, Udinese, Lecce and Napoli in the league, with all four losses coming by one goal margins. A 1-0 Coppa Italia win over Citadella was the only silver lining in an another wise forgettable month for the Biancoazzurri.

Brescia are winless in the league since their 2-1 upset victory over last season’s runners up AS Roma in late September. A run of five straight defeats has seen the Lombardian outfit slip to 16^th in the table, a single point away from the relegation zone.

Inter battled to a 1-0 win over Genoa last weekend. Ghanaian midfielder Sulley Muntari, a first half substitute for the injured Esteban Cambiasso, struck the winner deep into first half stoppage time. The Nerazzurri were without both Cambiasso and regular keeper Julio Cesar for their midweek Champions League trip to Tottenham Hotspur.

This is the first meeting between the two sides in nearly five years. Inter beat Brescia 3-0 away from home the last time the two teams clashed on the pitch.
