Inter suffered their first league defeat of the 10/11 season last week as they went down 1-0 to title rivals AS Roma. However the Nerazzurri’s superior goal difference ensured that they stayed at the top of the table, ahead of second placed Lazio.

Inter did have their chances against Roma, with Wesley Sneijder, Dejan Stankovic and Samuel Eto’o all testing Giallorossi keeper Bogdan Lobont. Four Inter players were booked in the game- Stankovic, defenders Chivu and Cordoba and striker Goran Pandev.

Juventus rode on the back of a brilliant hat trick from summer signing Milos Krasic to beat Cagliari 4-2 last weekend. The Serbian winger had failed to find the back of the net in his previous four appearances for Juve since his switch from CSKA, but netted thrice for the Bianconeri as they picked up their second win of the season.

Krasic scored twice in the first half and once in the second, with Juve’s other goal being an own goal from Radja Nainggolan. However there were chinks in the Juve defence that were exposed twice by Cagliari during the game. Juventus were last seen in action against Manchester City in the Europa League, while Inter’s last fixture was against Werder Bremen.

Inter have won the last three meetings between the two sides in Milan, a statistic that Juve will be hoping to change this weekend. If Juve beat the Nerazzurri, they will be level on points with Rafa Benitez’s men.

The Bianconeri are sixteen points behind Inter in the table and have won only seven times on the road in the league this season.
