Inter produced an excellent second half performance at the Allianz Arena to knock FC Bayern out of the Champions League on Tuesday. The Nerazzurri went to Munich, trailing 1-0 from the first leg and looked dead and buried when Bayern lead 2-1 at half time.

However the Italian side got their act together in the second half. They were also helped by some shoddy defending from Bayern. Dutch playmaker Wesley Sneijder slammed in an equaliser and Goran Pandev then slotted in a dramatic third to draw the tie 3-3 on aggregate. Inter, thanks to their three away goals, progressed on the away goals rule.

Inter drew 1-1 with Brescia last weekend. The visitors took the lead through Cameroon international Samuel Eto’o, only for Andrea Caracciolo to equalise six minutes from time for Brescia. Caracciolo could have also grabbed all three points for Brescia had he not missed a late penalty.

Inter’s Ivan Cordoba was sent off in the game against Brescia and is ineligible for this weekend’s game against Lecce. Like Cordoba, Gianni Munari will also sit out this fixture for Lecce.

The Salentini slumped to a 1-0 defeat against Bologna last weekend. Gaston Ramirez’s first half goal was enough to condemn Lecce to their fifteenth defeat of the season. Lecce have 28 points at this stage of the season, while Inter have 57.
